Born and raised in Indiana, Arin K. Norris graduated from the Honors College at Ball State University in 1995 as a political science major. Recognized for pro bono service during law school, Arin earned her Juris Doctorate in 1999 from Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis. Arin was admitted to the Indiana Bar in 1999, and remains an attorney in good standing.
After law school, Arin worked in the Consumer Protection Division under Attorney Generals Jeff Modisett and Karen Williams. She also completed a certified law internship with Marion County Prosecutor Scott Newman, before moving on to run the Oversight Division for the Department of Workforce Development. More recently, Arin became a Nationally Certified Guardian and provides guardianship services to elderly and disabled adults through the non-profit organization Guardianship Services of Southwestern Indiana, Inc. Arin is also a registered family law mediator, and she is a member of the Evansville Bar Association and the Indiana Bar Association. She was recently elected to the Board of Directors for the National Guardianship Association.
In addition to her legal background, Arin has worked in Vanderburgh and Warrick counties with those struggling with homelessness, mental illness and unemployment. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Volunteer Lawyer Program, and has also been a Court Appointed Special Advocate. Arin has been trained as a forensic interviewer under the "Finding Words" methodology.
